چکیده

We present the characterisation of massive cluster ClG J104803.7+313843 at z = 0.76 performed using a serendipitous XMM-Newton observation. High redshift and objects represent an ideal laboratory to benchmark our understanding how clusters form assembly formation is mainly driven by gravity. Leveraging high throughput we were firstly able determine object, shedding light on ambiguous photometric associations. investigated morphology this which shows signs merging activities in outskirts flat core. also measured radial density profile up R500. With these quantities hand, mass, M500 5.64−0.62+0.79 × 1014 M⊙, YX proxy. This quantity improves previous measurement mass object factor ∼3.5. The one such regime fundamental as are intrinsically rare, with number discovered so far being less than ∼25. Our study highlights importance X-ray observations combination ancillary multi-wavelength data improve high-z clusters.

XMM-Newton OBSERVES CLJ0152.7−1357: A MASSIVE GALAXY CLUSTER FORMING AT MERGER CROSSROADS AT Z = 0.83

We present an analysis of a 50 ks XMM-Newton observation of the merging galaxy cluster ClJ0152.7−1357 at z = 0.83. In addition to the two main subclusters and an infalling group detected in an earlier Chandra observation of the system, XMM-Newton detects another group of galaxies possibly associated with the cluster. This group may be connected to the northern subcluster by a filament of cool (...

XMM - Newton observation of the most X - ray - luminous galaxy cluster RX J 1347 . 5 − 1145

We report on an XMM-Newton observation of RX J1347.5−1145 (z=0.451), the most luminous X-ray cluster of galaxies currently known, with a luminosity LX = 6.0 ± 0.1 × 10 erg/s in the [2-10] keV energy band. We present the first temperature map of this cluster, which shows a complex structure. It identifies the cool core and a hot region at radii 50-200 kpc to south-east of the main X-ray peak, at...

Planck early results. XXVI. Detection with Planck and confirmation by XMM-Newton of PLCK G266.6–27.3, an exceptionally X-ray luminous and massive galaxy cluster at z ~ 1⋆

We present first results on PLCK G266.6−27.3, a galaxy cluster candidate detected at a signal-to-noise ratio of 5 in the Planck All Sky survey. An XMM-Newton validation observation has allowed us to confirm that the candidate is a bona fide galaxy cluster. With these X-ray data we measure an accurate redshift, z = 0.94 ± 0.02, and estimate the cluster mass to be M500 = (7.8 ± 0.8) × 1014 M . PL...
